If the surgery is closed, contact out-of-hours on 0844 800 1234 where you will be able to speak to a doctor or nurse. Out-of-hours times are 6.30pm to 8.00am weekdays, all weekends and Bank
Holidays.
Emergencies
If the situation is critical or life threatening, go to your nearest Accident & Emergency (A & E) Department or call 999 for an ambulance. An emergency is a critical or
life threatening situation such as:
- Unconsciousness
- Heavy bleeding
- Suspected broken bones
- Deep wound, like a stab wound
- Chest Pain for more than 15 minutes
- Breathing difficulties
- Overdose, swallowing something harmful, or poisoning
- Suspected meningitis rash
